Specialist Floor Screeds
With increasing pressure on floor screeds to perform and meet the demands of today’s programmes and specifications, screeds have become an integral part of the finishes design element. Quality control has become even more important as new products are specified. Mixing and laying are critical elements that must be measured against a proven control system.
Here at M. Clarkes we have developed the screeding section of our business to meet with these demands. With the latest in machine pumps from ‘Putzmeister’, our team of hand picked installers, and our in-depth knowledge, we have remained at the forefront in high performance and conventional screeding applications. With such a range of screed products available from membranes and reinforcement, to additives and toppings, below are examples of some different screed options:
Rapid drying Screeds
‘Mapei Topcem’, or ‘Larsen Speedo’. Hardens within 24 hours and is completely dry whatever the thickness within 7 days. Formation of bonded, unbonded and floating screeds on old and new slabs for the installation of wood, PVC, linoleum, ceramic tiles, natural stone, carpets or any other flooring where rapid drying is required for reduced installation times.
Suitable for interior and exterior use.
Lightweight Screeds
‘Lytag LWA’ Used in appropriate screed systems, weights will be reduced by around 50% over normal sand: cement screeds. Other inherent qualities include: improved drying and curing, low shrinkage, no upper depth limit, and increased sound insulation.
Conventional Screeds
Traditional Sand/Cement Screeds, usually laid at 75-100mm thick.
Technical Assistance
M. Clarkes have an in-house technical department who provide an efficient, professional and reliable screed testing service. We will survey, and test new and existing flooring for soundness, moisture, flatness and general condition. A report is then prepared analysing the results and providing recommendations for remedial works.
Traditional Plastering
Traditional sand/cement and skim plastering, as with all wet trades, is an inherently a slow process, given the application process and drying times. However it still remains the finish of choice for its hard-wearing and smoothness qualities. Particularly in large residential, education and health projects, this is where we can deliver to offset time delays and accelerate programmes.
Where vast areas of plastering must be carried out within time constraints, in an efficient manner, and where quality is paramount, we take all added pressure associated with this trade away from the client/contractor. We take care of all logistics, personnel management and provide all our own material, attendances, scaffold, plant and craneage, to once again offer the total package.
