Bann Valley Road Club 2009

M Clarke & Sons are proud sponsors of the Bann Valley Cycling Club, in fact Michael Clarke himself was a founding member when it was established back in 1989. Since then it has grown to be one of the most recognised clubs in Ireland both North and South, with members ranging from 10 to 70 years of age.

The club itself is also involved in Charity Fundraising, organising an annual Antrim Coast Cycle Event for Marie Curie Cancer research.

M Clarke named as finalists in FPDC 2010

We are delighted to announce that M Clarke and Sons Ltd have been shortlisted in the FPDC Awards 2010. The Award relates to work carried out on the Tweedie Residence (pictured). In the Tweedie residence, a K1.5mm grain in pure white was used, which resulted in a bright sharp finish. A Sto render Flexcote was used to reinforce the levelling render and avoid cracking. To protect the finish Sto Lotusan K finish was used.

M Clarke win FPDC 2009 award

The FPDC Plaisterers’ Awards is one of the oldest industry competitions and is widely recognised for rewarding the highest standards of skill and excellence in plastering and associated trades.

In 2009, over 40 entries were received with many inspiring and remarkable projects nominated to receive prestigious award. Contracts spanned a wide range of sectors including health and education, leisure and retail, residential and private.

All the winning projects were outstanding examples of skilled craftsmanship. The awards were split into six categories: Fibrous & GRG, Plastering, Screeding, Drylining, Steel Framed Systems and Technical Ceilings.

M Clarke & Sons Contracts Ltd won for Queen’s Health Science in Belfast, here’s what the judges had to say:

“An impressively consistent piece of work using Stolit, consistent texture throughout, even on soffits and on elevations up to 18metres high. Well set out and impressively detailed V cuts in the render with no visible day-work joints.”
