Colin Mackey Estimator at Clarke Facades comments on his time with the company and what he gets up to outside of work.

Colin, as Estimator at Clarke Facades tell us a little about your typical working week.

The main focus of my role is to prepare and submit tenders for large scale projects across the UK and Ireland. Each week I receive and log tender enquiries, communicate with clients on their tender status, engage with suppliers and finalise bids. I’m also a dedicated member in the Clarkes Charity Committee, at present we are currently creating our strategy for 2019 and building a pipeline of events and fundraisers.

Colin, tell us a little about what you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work I lead a very active lifestyle, I’m a member at the local gym, running club and enjoy watching and playing most sports. I usually participate in the Belfast Marathon Team Relay alongside other colleagues to help raise money for charity. In summer Clarke Facades usually participate with other local companies in a five-a-side football competition which I usually take part in.

I lead a family orientated lifestyle with my wife, son and daughter. My daughter got married in August and now lives in Scotland, we often visit her and her husband and it’s a great opportunity to view more of Scotland. My son and I enjoy going to football matches in Liverpool and Belfast and I often go on holidays with my wife, we enjoy both beach locations and city breaks.

How long have you worked for Clarke Facades and what do you enjoy most?

I’ve worked in the construction industry most of my life. I’ve worked at Clarke Facades since 2015. In this time, I have submitted a large number of tenders, many of which we secure and like any business, ones we miss out on. Being involved at the early stage of a project is part of the job I enjoy most!
