Clarke Facades employees decided to participate in the grueling Belfast City marathon in order to raise funds for their chosen charity Tiny Life.
Tiny Life is Northern Ireland’s only premature and vulnerable baby charity, dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies born in Northern Ireland.
Clarke Facades entered three relay teams into this year’s Belfast Marathon for the annual May Day event. The marathon which is 26.2 miles in length attracts over 5,000 competitors and Clarkes had a group of 15 employees, divided into three relay team groups with five members in each, so that as many employees as possible could run and enjoy themselves as they completed the course at the same time.
The marathon raised £5,300 which will go a long way in helping those children and their families. A huge thank you to everyone who donated!
Gillian Breen, Community Fundraiser says “Tiny Life, Northern Ireland’s premature baby charity, are delighted with the support we are receiving from the staff from Clarke Facades, Portglenone, during our year long charity partnership. Our thanks as well as a huge congratulations go to the 15 members of staff who took to the streets on Bank Holiday Monday for their most recent fundraiser, the Belfast Marathon relay, raising much needed funds for the charity. All the money raised will benefit local families, with premature or sick babies, who can avail of our wide range of support services free of charge. Every day in Northern Ireland six babies are born too soon, some arriving as early as 24 weeks and weighing as little as 1lb”
