Carrie Kearney, Group Accountant of Clarke Facades comments on her short time with the company and how she immediately felt like part of the team!

Carrie, you recently joined the Clarke team – tell us about your role in the company.

I started with Clarke Facades in mid-March as their Group Accountant and immediately felt like part of the team. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first 2 months getting to grips with my new role and getting to know my colleagues. Due to the continued growth of the company, the finance department has become extremely busy. I mainly deal with subcontractor payments, payroll, and cash flow management.

What do you enjoy most about working at Clarke Facades?

Aside from my role in Finance, I enjoy the people and culture in the company, not forgetting our free lunch Thursdays! In my short time here, I have been involved with a number of charitable events including the Darkness into Light 5k Walk which took place at 4.15am a few weeks ago with all money raised donated to Turning Point NI. As an employee of Clarke Facades, we also benefit from company perks including Private Healthcare, Westfield Rewards and other incentives which make work more enjoyable.

Tell us a little about what you get up to outside of work?

I go to the gym 3-4 times each week – I participate in CrossFit Athletics and Pilates. I thoroughly enjoy the social and fitness aspect of the classes and have made some great friends along the way! My weekends tend to vary, aside from CrossFit I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, shopping, having BBQ’s and travelling. Last weekend I completed the Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail in County Fermanagh which was tough but enjoyable!

How would you describe Clarke Facades?

There is a great family atmosphere in Clarkes, and everyone feels part of the team straight away.  There is an ethos of hard work, but this doesn’t mean there is no fun in the office.  Clarkes also promote fundraising and already in my short time here, there have been a number of activities to raise money for different local charities.
